The IT Department is proud to provide the research community at HGSE access to the Advanced Statistics Lab. The purpose of this lab is to offer graduate students access to specialized statistical software that is unavailable on public machines at HGSE. HGSE is committed to providing students with the computers and software they need to complete their coursework and research. There are numerous public computers throughout Gutman library that have a wide variety of research software packages available for student use. The ASL exists to address the needs of students whose research requires specialized software that is too expensive to offer on all the public machines.
Due to the limited number of computers in the lab, we ask that students who wish to use the ASL make a formal request for access to the lab and indicate why their work requires access to the ASL. Selected faculty members will review the application and make a determination regarding student access. Students who are granted access will then have access to the lab sign up tool and can reserve a computer. HGSE’s Advanced Statistics Lab is located in Gutman 304b.
To submit a request for access to the ASL, please e-mail email@example.com.
All submissions should include:
- a description of why you need access to the lab
- when you will begin using the lab and approximately when you will finish
- your nine-digit Harvard ID, which can be found on your ID card
If you have any questions about using the ASL, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to the research applications found on other HGSE lab computers (Stata, SPSS, Mplus), the computers in the Advanced Statistics Lab also have the following programs:
- IRT Pro
