New HarvardSites Websites

HarvardSites is the in-house platform for building, hosting, and maintaining websites in the HGSE ecosystem. The platform is owned and managed by Harvard Web Publishing (within HUIT), who work in partnership with localized school-specific groups like HGSE's Web Services team. The platform's primary offering is based on the Drupal content management system, and is heavily streamlined for ease of use and policy compliance in the Harvard environment.

HGSE Eligibility Criteria

Websites on the HarvardSites platform require a budgetary resource commitment from HGSE. As a result, short-term sites with lifespans under a year are not permitted. Please check the criteria below to verify if you are eligible to request a new site from within the HGSE ecosystem. Please note that even if you are ineligible, the Web Services team can still provide consulting and advice on initiating and managing a web project.

New website requests may be made by the following groups within the HGSE community:

  • HGSE Offices
  • HGSE Centers, Projects, and Initiatives
  • Members of HGSE's Faculty of the Whole and Annual Lecturers
    • Note, new Adjunct Faculty, Teaching Fellows, and Teaching Assistants are not eligible at this time.
  • Long-term Doctoral Students and PostDocs

All other members of the HGSE community, including Master's students, are not authorized for new websites on HarvardSites at this time. This eligibility criteria may be updated periodically.

Eligible community members may fill out the request form for a new website on HarvardSites here.
